WebFeb 22, 2024 · Not sure how GFO does in a filter sock but I know you can’t do the same with GAC. The carbon gets pounded and sends dust into the aquarium. GFO May turn into a brick if not allowed to tumble though. Yeah I know carbon is more delicate for sure. WebSep 3, 2024 · Change out your canister at the same time and break it all the way down. Be prepared to run chemical (charcoal and gfo), mechanical (filter flossx2), and biological if you so choose. Do all this regularly and you'll be fine.
