However, concomitant therapy with digoxin or underlying cardiac disease can potentiate the arrhythmogenic effects of hypercalcaemia, leading to a symptomatic rhythm disorder. WebHypokalemia, hypocalcemia, and hypomagnesemia are all possible causes for cardiac arrhythmia. Low magnesium and potassium levels can also cause symptoms of digitalis toxicity. 2. Prolonged diuretic use can lead to magnesium loss. 3. Hypomagnesemia can cause decreased levels of potassium and calcium.
