Right now they have a brand new Cascadia with a 500 HP ISX / 13 speed for $117K. The same truck with a 455HP DD is $142K. So Freightliner is saying there is $25K worth of headache in that ISX motor. I have owned cummins for years and there is nothing good about them bad cams, bad fuel pump pistons that cause engine failure, and carbon pack rings and on on. The cummins has more power and less MPG. WebOct 6, 2011 · I have been driving an MX engine now for 4 months now and have no complaints. It is in a 2011 386 rated at 455 HP. We are pulling a gross weight of 105,500 and it does rather well with mpg between 4.5 to 5 mpg depending on wind etc. I feel the mileage will get better when the weather warms up and truck gets more miles on it. WebJun 11, 2024 · I have read that the mx 13 has been around for quite a time and was originally built under the Daf 105 engine. Than paccar bought it. The mx 13 is the only pushrod diesel made for north America. I liked the way they run. But to many red lights issues. And the radiator is only good for 300,000 miles. Most owners I've talked to really like them.
